Data collection
Thok does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data. It includes no advertising, analytics, tracking, crash-reporting, or third-party service SDKs.
Input Monitoring
macOS requires Input Monitoring permission so Thok can play sounds while you type in other apps. Thok observes physical key codes, modifier flags, and whether a key press is repeating. It uses that information immediately to select and position a sound.
Thok does not read character strings, reconstruct words, save key events, or bypass macOS Secure Keyboard Entry. Password and other protected-input fields may therefore be silent.
Information stored on your Mac
Thok stores only your enabled state, sound preset, and volume preference in the standard macOS preferences system. These settings remain on your Mac and can be removed by deleting the app's preferences.
Network access
The delivered app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox without incoming or outgoing network entitlements. macOS prevents the app from opening network connections, even if a future code change attempted to do so.
Apple services
Apple may process information when you view or download Thok through the Mac App Store. That activity is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not data collected by the Thok app.
